Update on sanitation pump at Holy Spirit Church
Please note the temporary change in Mass location
Upon the successful installation of the new boiler at Holy Spirit Church, another significant mechanical failure was discovered. The grinders which are the means of removing wastewater and sewage from the building have both failed. It was discovered that one of the pumps had been inoperable for a significant length of time, while the second pump has now also failed. Without their operation, the removal of wastewater and sewage from the building is impossible. This creates a serious health and safety issue.
The facilities group from the diocese has been consulted as to what can be done in remedying this problem. Until this has been determined, the building will be closed beginning May 21st and 22nd until further notice when the situation is evaluated and repairs are able to be made. As with the installation of the boiler, these repairs are compounded by supply chain issues.
In light of these circumstances, temporary adjustments to the Mass schedule are necessary. The temporary schedule will be as follows:
For the weekend Masses:
The 4 p.m. Mass will be canceled for the time being
The 11 a.m. Mass will be transferred to Saint Elizabeth for the time being
For the weekday Masses:
The 8:00 a.m. Mass on Wednesday will be transferred to Saint Clare
The 8:00 a.m. Mass on Friday will be transferred to Saint Thomas
Updates regarding the status of the repairs will be reported in the bulletin and on the parish website. We regret having to report this problem and appreciate your understanding.
