As we celebrate Trinity Sunday this weekend, we count down three weeks to the July 1 st merger of our new parish, Triumph of the Holy Cross. Perhaps we feel sad about the end of our former parishes, but let us instead remember their successes and accomplishments. We are able to profess our faith today, in the holy triune God, whose love is revealed in Jesus Christ and who has gifted us with the Spirit, because of our former parishes. They shared the gift of faith in the Trinity with us; they taught us how to pray in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They nurtured the faith in us through the celebration of the sacraments. They brought us to the present moment to look forward with courage that we too will be able to hand on the faith in the Trinity to future generations.
