Our parish offers weekly Faith Formation sessions on-site for children ages PreK through Grade 8.
Classes meet September through April and are staffed by volunteer catechists (teachers) and assistants. The sessions are 90 minutes long.
Following a liturgy-centered model, this program is rooted in the experience of the Sunday Mass. In each session, the Sunday scriptures are proclaimed, studied, prayed, and integrated as young members build their Catholic identity. The curriculum currently used is Sadlier's "WE BELIEVE." Every effort is taken to incorporate all diocesan guidelines and catechetical policies at each age/grade level.
Our 6th, 7th and 8th graders, our immersed in a curriculum which utilizes materials by Ascension Press, Dynamic Catholic and Center for Ministry Development.
Typically Middle School Faith Formation , groups are provided with the opportunities for field trips, service projects and special events, also.
In addition, the Diocese of Pittsburgh requires all parishes to offer the Catholic Vision of Love (CVOL) program. This curriculum, which focuses on Catholic marriage, sexuality and the family, is integrated with our morality series at Saint Elizabeth for all grades.
Our Faith Formation Office is pleased to offer our on-site families special resources to help strengthen faith practice in the home.
Faith Formation Registration Instructions
Summer greetings from the Office of Faith Formation. We are glad that you have decided to be a part of our Family of Faith and to partner with us as you share the priceless gift of Catholic Faith Formation for you and your family. Faith is a gift from God and it cannot be taught but only cultivated and nourished within each of us. Through dedicated study and practice each of us can be formed in a way of life as Catholics that will strengthen and deepen our walk as disciples of Jesus Christ in the world. The gift of Faith comes from God but requires the individual and community to actively participate in the nurturance of that faith–one way is through the study of discipleship-or religious education/faith formation.
The current registration form will be available on –line beginning August 5, 2019. Please complete the registration form and return it to Faith Formation from August 5-August 31.
